Fernando Figueroa – Board Member

Fernando has over 20 years of experience in the field of security, and 14 years as a security consultant. He has a vast knowledge of security concepts, principles, practices, programs, operations, and techniques, including anti-terrorism operations. His training, education, and experience lead him to provide reality-based tactical and intelligence training to law enforcement, military, and security companies overseas.

Fernando has trained close protection teams in comprehensive programs with realistic scenarios. These teams include the protection detail for a wealthy family in the gas industry, the executive protection unit for the CEO of the largest bank in the Dominican Republic, and the Diplomatic Protection Unit for the head of the Dominican Republic’s Customs Agency. He was also lead trainer for the Presidential Secret Service (CUSEP) of the Dominican Republic.

In the United States, Fernando managed personal protection for individuals, Fortune 500 clients, celebrities, and political personnel at undisclosed locations—including billionaire real estate heiress Leona Helmsley. Later, he served as an Emergency Response Team Member and Senior Security Supervisor for Barrick Gold Corporation, then the world’s largest gold mining company.

In 2022, he joined the Dominican Republic National Police and was assigned to Special Operations, serving as Defensive Tactics Instructor for elite SWAT teams. He helped overhaul the CQC training syllabus to keep it relevant and operationally effective. He also trained the first 100 officers of the new Tactical Response Unit—The Grey Berets—and continued to support the unit with tactical instruction.

In 2024, Fernando was appointed lead instructor and consultant for the Protection Detail of the Director General of the Dominican Republic National Police, Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta.

Fernando is certified as a Private Military Contractor and Counter Terror Quick Reaction Force Single Operative by GENI-AX Counter Terror Academy. He also serves as an instructor and advisor for Peru’s private military company IDRONEWALL and Russia’s Optimum Security Solution Group (OSS). A former member of the U.S. government’s private military contractor Blackwater Alumni Association, Fernando continues to publish works on executive protection and terrorism and remains active in protective operations in high-risk areas.
