Bob Betts is a highly respected security professional, educator, and advisor with over three decades of leadership and operational experience in the security sector. Currently serving as the Managing Director of Elite Academy Ltd and a Member of the UK SIA Security Skills Board, Bob is widely recognized for his strategic insight and commitment to raising standards across the industry.

Bob’s distinguished career spans multiple high-impact roles within public sector organizations, including the UK Home Office and the Armed Forces. His expertise encompasses Close Protection, Events Security Management, and consultancy at both corporate and governmental levels. He has served as a Consultant to the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and was previously appointed as a Director of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), contributing to national policy development and sector advancement.

A subject matter expert in security education and training, Bob has played a pivotal role in curriculum design and quality assurance. He has served as a Qualification Writer and Subject Matter Expert for leading awarding organizations, as well as a core member of the Community Safety Accreditation Scheme (CSAS) Training Group. His advisory work extends globally, having consulted for security companies and government agencies worldwide on training frameworks and operational standards.

In his current role, Bob leads the training of SIA instructors in the UK, setting benchmarks for excellence and consistency in professional development.
