Following his graduation from the Armed Forces Training College (AFTC), now Kenya Military Academy (KMA), Byron was commissioned as a Cadet Officer in October 2006, emerging top among his peers in Intake 33. He began his military career as a platoon commander in the Parachute Regiment and was later selected to pioneer the Kenya Special Forces unit. He trained with the world-renowned UK 22 Special Air Service (SAS), eventually rising to serve as Operations Officer within Kenya’s most elite military formation. Transitioning into the corporate security sector in 2012, Byron became the founding Country Operations Director of XFOR Security Solutions, the UK’s leading security firm, at its inception in Kenya. Under his leadership, the company rapidly expanded to over 1,050 personnel and was awarded the prestigious Security Excellence Award (SEA) by the end of its first operational year—a testament to his effectiveness in strategic security management and organizational growth.

Since 2014, Byron has successfully operated as an independent consultant and specialist in high-level security services, including Special Operations, Covert Surveillance, Close Protection, Litigation Support, Business Intelligence, and Risk Management. He is an associate director in three prominent security firms and serves as a training partner to leading institutions such as PSTA (under SENACA), Delight Professional Summits, and IPSS.
